I Am Love Healing Center

Usui Reiki

Reiki therapy is a Japanese method that dates back to over a hundred years ago. It promotes relaxation and stress reduction that may also be used to promote healing. When energy is low, an unbalanced person may feel depressed, anxious and tired. If the life force energy is high and balanced, the person is more likely to be happier, more centered and less stressed.

Reiki treatment allows a person to tap into all elements of being including; mind, body, emotion, and spirit. Not only is Reiki a safe practice but it’s a simple, natural, and spiritual way for healing and self-improvement- that is accessible for every person willing to try.

What should I expect during a Reiki session?

The session length varies, but they may last between 20 and 90 minutes.

You will likely be in comfortable clothes, and will be either sitting in a chair or laying flat on a treatment table. Reiki therapy involves laying hands on or above a person to transfer the flow of life force energy. You can state your preference at the beginning of a session for hands on, or hands off- both of which will get the same result.

The Potential Health Benefits Of Reiki Therapy

For the mental/emotional benefits of Reiki, you will have a calmer mind, show enhanced creativity and improved memory. Reiki has also been shown to help with insomnia and confidence, and even ease the pain of addiction. It has the ability to increase personal awareness, and help you experience relief from emotional upheaval, including anxiety and depression.

Spiritual benefits may include leading a more purposeful life, feeling more connected with oneself and others in the universe, and establishing a life filled with peace.

In summary, as a complementary technique, Reiki therapy can promote relaxation and a connection with your mind, body, and spirit to promote healing.

Sound Healing

Sound healing therapy uses aspects of music to improve physical and emotional health and well-being.

Although there are many methods, a few common sound healing techniques include the use of singing bowls, tuning forks, vibrational sounds and music.

Sound and music can be effective healers for a range of mental, emotional, and even physical ailments. It has been a valuable treatment for several conditions such as; depression, anxiety disorders, and PTSD.

Sonically lowering your brainwave state and entering frequencies typically reserved for deep sleep will trigger your relaxation response.

A sound healing treatment is typically 60 minutes, and created for each individual- depending on their needs.

Cupping/Cupping Massage

Cupping has been used for thousands of years. The suction created by the cup pulls blood into the the skin. It improves the circulation of blood, bringing toxic blood up and new blood in. Cupping helps issues such as generalized pain, injuries of the the back/shoulders/neck, herniated discs, disc degeneration, arthritis. It also improves migraines, asthma, colds, flus, and insomnia.

I use stationary cupping on acupressure points for specific illnesses or knots, and also using sliding cups during a massage. Most acute injuries recover with 1-3 treatments and most chronic conditions heal with in 10 treatments. The stationary cups will leave circular marks- bruising that go away after 3-10 days.

Crystal Healing

Crystal Healing uses the healing power of crystals in combination with Reiki and/or massage.

Specific crystals are placed around the body as well as on the chakras to clear blockages, remove negative energy and increase positive, vibrant energy.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage

Manual lymphatic drainage is a very gentle massage that speeds up your lymphatic system by 20 times. Our lymphatic system is responsible for transporting lymph (a fluid containing infection fighting white blood cells) throughout the body and for removing toxins, waste and other unwanted materials. By manually draining the lymph one can significantly speed up healing from illness, injury and surgery.

MLD removes excess water and metabolic waste from the tissues in the body, which helps with the condition of tired legs, varicose veins, scars, fluid retention and swelling, poor circulation and localized fat. It strengthens the immune system, helps with sinus issues and boosts energy.

Space Clearing

Space clearing is a simple method for harmonizing energy in a home or business. I am able to remove stagnant or negative energy from a space or object using a variety of tools like sage, rattles, drums, bells, essential oils, mystic mudras and blessings to bring back balance and purity.
I would recommend a regular space clearing to any business to increase positivity, motivation and productivity and decrease sick days.
I, personally would recommend it in a home if there has been a severe or chronic illness, divorce, crime, or death.

Pricing will depend on the location and size of space.

Indian Head Massage

The purpose of an Indian Head Massage is to relieve tension in the muscles and joints of the head, face and neck.

Here are just some of the benefits: relief from headaches and migraines, promotes hair growth, stimulates lymphatic drainage, relieves insomnia, relieves symptoms of stress, anxiety, and depression, boosts memory and concentration, renews energy levels, provides relief from hair disorders (such as alopecia, dandruff, psoriasis).

It is so relaxing and soothing many clients fall asleep during this massage and feel great afterwards.

Holy Fire Reiki

Holy Fire is a combination of traditional Usui Reiki as well as a new refined energy that comes from a higher level of consciousness.

It seems to heal quickly without distress, releases worry, heals relationships, and provides guidance for every level of life experience. Tends to develop healthy personality traits such as love of self and others, kindness, patience, confidence, vitality, optimism, joy, peace and so on.

The process for a Holy Fire Reiki healing is the same as a Usui Reiki.

Gua Sha

Gua Sha is a natural, alternative therapy that involves scraping your skin with a massage tool to improve circulation and break up scar tissue/adhesions under the skin.  It can speed up healing by increasing circulation and on the face it promotes lifting and firming of the skin for a younger appearance.

I use Gua Sha tools as part of body and face massage.

Chakra Healing

A form of energy healing that focuses on channeling energy into the 7 chakras.

An excellent way to balance your chakras for overall health and well being. Provides a faster ability to heal your mental, physical, spiritual and emotional issues. Increases openness, memory, concentration and awareness.

The process for a Chakra healing is the same as a Usui Reiki.

Natural Face Lift

I use Gua Sha and cupping for an instant face lift and younger looking, firmer skin. I combine both methods to stimulate the deeper layer of your skin, increase blood flow, tone facial muscles and redefine the jaw. Facial cupping also reduces fine lines and stimulates collagen production- its the newest trend for natural face rejuvenation! I finish this 60 minute treatment with a manual lymphatic drainage massage to move and drain all the fluids from your face/neck.

Therapeutic Hot Stone Massage

A Hot Stone Massage is a next-level indulgence.  It is considered a deep tissue massage because the heat from the basalt stones go very deep and added pressure is not necessary.  The hot stones are placed on and around the body and I use stones to massage the client as well.  It is very relaxing, helps with insomnia, chronic pain,  cancer management, removing toxins and so much more. The basalt stones are volcanic rock with healing properties, they are grounding and help with strength, courage and stability.

Therapeutic Acupressure and Meridian Massage

A traditional Chinese medical theory that describes special acupoints that lie along meridians (channels) in your body. They start at your fingertips, connect to your brain and then connect to an organ associated with a certain meridian. Specific acupressure points are massaged with different techniques to stimulate the release of tension and pain.

I use acupressure and Meridian Massage on its own for a specific ailment or as an addition to regular massage/hot stone massage.

Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy uses the healing benefits of essential oils to promote relaxation and self healing. I use essential oils in my massages, during reiki treatments and space clearing. I also have a few blends of face oils that I give to my clients after their facial cupping treatment.

The benefits of essential oils are now widely known and they include; stress relief, pain relief, anxiety and depression relief, relaxation, immune system boost, improved digestion, memory, and concentration, and many more!

Therapeutic Massage for Touch Starvation

Also called touch deprivation or skin hunger.  In babies and the elderly, it’s called Failure to Thrive.
Humans need touch to survive.
Skin-to-skin contact is vital for our mental, emotional and physical health.

In recent years the number of  adults with touch starvation has increased dramatically

Symptoms of touch starvation are aggressive behavior, high-stress level, anxiety, depression, low satisfaction, difficulty sleeping, fatigue, body image issues, loneliness, sexual dysfunction, fear of attachment, and more.

The therapeutic massage for touch starvation is very gentle, soothing, and rhythmic. It stimulates pressure receptors on the skin that transport signals to your vagus nerve.  The vagus nerve connects the brain to the rest of the body- when it slows down – your whole body feels safe and relaxed. The massage lowers blood pressure, heart rate, and stress hormones and relieves pain.  It also releases feel-good hormones like oxytocin, serotonin, and dopamine.

I have created a special massage for touch starvation that is a slow, gentle,  nurturing and comforting and with a dash of energy healing.  The energy healing just adds a feeling of safety and unconditional love and makes you more relaxed and able to enjoy this experience to the fullest.

List of Therapeutic Massage

I do a wide ranges of different massages to suit your needs.

  3. Cupping – using cups to massage your body- no bruising
  4.  Acupressure- relieves tension and could be painful if you have knots/injury
  5. Touch starvation – very slow/gentle and relaxing.
  6. Hot Stone- Using hot stones to speed up healing and relaxation.

You can also request any combination of these in one session.

Cuddle Therapy

Cuddle Therapy has been becoming popular in the US and Europe, and finally showing up in Canada. After the Pandemic, the number of adults that live alone, work from home, and are not in relationships has greatly increased- leaving them feeling isolated and without any human contact, or very little physical contact.

This can cause Touch Starvation, stress, depression, Anxiety, Insomnia, a weakened immune system and the list goes on.

Here are the most common side effects of touch starvation: aggressive behavior, high-stress level, anxiety, depression, low satisfaction, difficulty sleeping, fatigue, body image issues, loneliness, sexual dysfunction, fear of attachment, weakened immune system, worsening of diabetes, asthma and high blood pressure.

Cortisol is a hormone that is released when we are under stress, and it is also increased in a person who is touch starved.
Some of the very well-known effects of long-term cortisol overexposure are: Anxiety, Depression, Digestive problems, Headaches, Muscle tension and pain, Heart Disease, Stroke, Heart attack, High blood pressure, Sleep problems and weight gain, and increased risk for addictive behavior.

So the implication is that TOUCH is of vital importance to our physical, emotional, and mental well-being. …and I think our life depends on it. I don’t understand why more people aren’t talking about it, why Doctors and the medical community are not asking patients who come in with a list of these symptoms if they have enough Loving touch before they prescribe medication.

I do cuddle therapy with clients on its own, or after the touch starvation massage. I gently hold them in a number of cuddling positions that they enjoy.  It has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life to be able to do that and make them feel loved and safe.
There is a special consent form and code of conduct that we discuss and sign before the session.
